I don’t know if you are as excited as we are, but today is June 21st 2007 and that means that there is exactly one month until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows comes out on July 21st 2007. So the countdown is on. Are you pre-ordering a copy online like us?
While most of our excitement is about the book, we are also super happy to be using this event to raise money for charity. If you haven’t purchased your copy of the book yet, make sure to order it through this site and we’ll donate a full $1 to charity. The great thing is that the same thing applies for every Harry Potter related product on sale, over $10.
Can’t contain your excitement over Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows? Are you searching aggressively for leaked copies? Well, you’re not alone. The leaked copy meme has spread all over the internet and is one of the most highly searched terms at the moment. But rest assured, there is no leaked copy of Deathly Hallows. It’s just a big joke!
But if you’re so excited about the book that you can’t contain yourself, then why not spend some of your energy competing for our “write your own ending” contest? Two people will win $500 each!
So there’s only one month until the last Harry Potter book is released. Let the countdown begin!!!!
I think it’s safe to say that the Harry Potter books bring out the children in all of us. But the fact is that billions of children are not only illiterate but also living in sub-human conditions around the world.
We think that the massive popularity of the Harry Potter books can be put to good use to combat this state of affairs and encourage literacy at the same time.
For each Harry Potter Book that is sold through this website, we will donate a total of $1 to the Global Literacy Project, a charity that focuses on the needs of children around the world by encouraging literacy as a tool to break the cycle of poverty.
The Global Literacy Project develops community-based literacy initiatives throughout the world primarily through the creation of libraries and library support programs in rural schools and community centers in Africa, South Asia and the Caribbean. The organization was cofounded by two Rutgers University professors Olubayi Olubayi and Denniston Bonadie.
This program to raise money for charity is being run by Performancing, a highly-esteemed company that you can trust to distribute 100% of the proceeds from this program to the respective charities. All monies raised will either be donated to charity or used for advertising and promotion (which are critical components for getting the word out).
Our goal is to donate one million dollars by selling one million Harry Potter books by the end of 2007. With the upcoming release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and the tens of millions of copies that will be sold, plus all the copies of previous versions people will be buying to catch-up, we think we can do it… with your help!
